easy english expression rehashed hello everybody my name is coach shane and welcome to easy english expressions come on let's master english Hello, everybody. Coach Shane here. How are you doing?

I hope you had a nice weekend. This weekend, so cold where I am. Oh, my God. I hope the weather is nicer where you are. E-Cubed, Daily Easy English Expression number 561.

This expression is great. This is a really excellent expression. I hope you enjoy it, and I hope you can use it. But it's not that nice, but it's really good.

All right, EQ561. Enjoy. Let's go back in time. Welcome back to Daily Easy English Expression. The podcast. The podcast. Yeah. So, how's my singing? Be honest.

I'll sing another song for you. You picked a fine time to leave me, Lucille. Four hungry children and a crop in the field. What? My singing is bad? I should not sing?

I should only teach English? I know. So in this situation, when somebody tries to do something different, but they're really terrible, you can tell them you're really terrible by saying this.

Don't quit your day job. Don't quit your day job. Don't quit your day job. You have a regular job. So for Coach Shane, my regular job is teaching English.

But now I'm trying to sing. I'm trying to sing a song, but it sounds really bad. Will I become a professional singer? No. Don't even think about becoming a professional singer.

Don't quit your day job. Make sure you keep your job. Because if you quit your day job and try to become a professional singer, you're going to starve.

Check out the dialogue. I started a new business. Doing what? I'm going to sell handmade wool socks. In the desert? Don't quit your day job. Yeah. So still right now I live in the desert and it was kind of cold today, but nothing like Chicago, nothing like New York.

It is much colder there. So living in the desert, you know, out of 365 days a year, 10, 15 days are cold. The rest of the days are very nice. People who live in nice weather and even hot weather, do you need socks?

No. Do you need wool socks made of wool, sheep's fur? You know, wool, W-O-O-L, wool. Of course not. So a new business in the desert selling handmade wool socks.

That business is going to fail. You might as well sell ice cream to Eskimos. I don't know. I don't think it's a good business idea. I don't think so. Having a steak restaurant in front of a Buddhist temple.

Buddhists are all vegetarians. They're supposed to be, I guess. Not a good idea. Selling pork to Jewish people or Muslims. It's not going to happen. They don't eat pork.

So some businesses are just not a good idea. Coach Shane singing, not a good idea. Don't quit your day job. Don't quit your day job. If somebody tells you a joke that's really funny and you want to tell them that joke was stupid, you can say, don't quit your day job.

If somebody makes a picture of something, they draw something or they take a photograph of something, but it's just not good, you can tell them, don't quit your day job. Yeah, it's a great expression. It's not very nice, but it's a good expression.
