See you there! All right. Episode 551. Enjoy. Let's go back in time. Today's expression is sound asleep. Right now for me, it is 1057 p.m. after I finish this podcast.

I'm going to take a shower, brush my teeth, and I'm going to lay down, probably watch a little bit of American football. And hopefully within 30 minutes, I will be sound asleep.

What does sound asleep mean? It means... Basically, it does mean that. It means to be sleeping so deeply that nothing wakes you up. Are you a sound sleeper?

When you go to bed at night and you fall asleep, do you not wake up until the morning? Me, I'm a pretty sound sleeper. There can be lots of noise. There can be lights.

There can be my cats jumping on me, running all over the place, screaming, meow, meow. And I sleep like I'm dead. I'm a sound sleeper. When I go to bed, I am sound asleep.

Check out the dialogue. Where were you last night? I went to bed early. I was tired. I called you three times. Sorry. I was sound asleep. That's me. If you want to talk to me after I have fallen asleep, nothing will wake me up.

Only several hours of sleep. Are you a sound sleeper? Let me know. Leave a message. I'm curious. And check out the website, www.letsmasterenglish.com.
