Today, we're talking about that feeling when you've used up all your energy and just don't have much left in the tank. Let's see how this word can help you describe that feeling naturally in everyday English.

Here we go. Let's go back in time. Today's expression is drained to be drained. I'm drained. D-R-A-I-N. Now, usually when you think of the word drain, we should think of our kitchen sink or maybe the bathtub.

And let's say we're washing dishes in the kitchen and the water is dirty. The water goes down the drain and it disappears. It goes down the drain. Drain.

So the idea of a drain is it... takes something away it takes away the water it takes away the dirty water okay but if a person is drained it means their energy has been sucked away so if you said i'm drained it means i'm tired i have no energy i'm very tired check out the dialogue

You look drained. Oh, I'm totally drained. What happened? Oh, some people expect too much. It happens to everybody. How do you feel today? Are you okay or are you drained?

Now, for most of you, it's Saturday and you're probably at home. Maybe you're resting and maybe you're tired because during the week you work so hard. Your boss wanted so much.

Your friends wanted so much. And now you're drained. You just want to rest. You just want to relax. And now Coach Shane wants you to learn English. Oh, it's too much.

I know. Take it easy. I'm getting tired too. And I'll tell you, I've got a busy couple months. Of course, the holidays and the moving. I guarantee you when it comes to the month of February, I'll be drained.

I might take a week or two off. I might do it because I'll be so drained. Would that be okay? Oh, I like the energy-filled days. Let's check out the dialogue two more times.
