Today, we're looking at three interesting words people use to describe someone who follows the crowd without really thinking for themselves. Let's explore what these words mean and how you can use them naturally in everyday English.

Enjoy. Let's go back in time. Today's expression is three words, but they all mean the same thing. The first word, sheep, S-H-E-E-P. The second word, sheeple, S-H-E-E-P-L-E. And the last word, lemming.

L E M M I N G. And these words mean the same thing. Sheeple or sheep or lemmings are people who don't use their intelligence. They just follow everybody else.

So for example, on Monday night, if everybody is going to watch a certain show on television and You also watch the show because everybody else watches the show.

If somebody, if some movie star buys a t-shirt with a strange color and then everybody else starts buying the same shirt, you also buy the same shirt because everybody else is buying the same shirt.

You're a lemming. You're a sheep. You're one of the sheep. You are sheeple. Is it good to be part of the sheeple? Do you want to be a sheep? Do you want to be a lemming?

I hope not. No, we don't. We want to be individuals. We want to have our own opinion, our own style. We want to make our own culture. I think that's a good thing.

Being an individual, that's pretty good. Look at me. Do you see other English teachers like me on YouTube? No. No way. Nobody is like me. I'm my own man.

People might try to be like me, but I am me. Okay, check out the dialogue. Listen carefully. Dude, your phone is so old. It still works. And when's the last time you bought clothes?

I don't need any. Come on. Hey, I'm not a lemming. I do things my own way. Good for you. Are you a lemming? Look it up on Google, L-E-M-M-I-N-G. They'll show you a little tiny animal, looks like a rat, and there's like a million of them, and they all follow each other jumping off a cliff.

If the person in front of you does something stupid, do you follow that person? Are you a lemming? Are you a sheep? That's the same idea. Be a person, not a sheep.

We are people, not sheeple. Be an individual. Yeah, make your own decisions. Have your own opinions. Create your own style. I think there's... Can you imagine if everybody were the same?

If everybody said the same thing? Oh my God, it'd be so boring. It'd be terrible. Some people might like the idea, but not me. Don't be a lemming. Be an individual.
