Pinch is a verb and it means to take your thumb and your first finger or forefinger or index finger or pointer and put them together. And usually you pinch somebody. So you can pinch your friend's cheek.
Ow! And if you pinch hard, it really hurts. You can also, when you're cooking... Let's say you have some soup. You can add a pinch of salt. That means I need to add salt.
How much salt? Well, go to the salt and just put your first finger and thumb together. And that much. A pinch of salt. So a pinch can be an amount. But in today's situation, it means salt.
In an emergency. In an emergency. Yes, I'm serious. Check out the dialogue. Uh, problem. We don't have buttermilk. Hmm, you got milk and lemon juice, right?

Well, obviously, I need to buy a new camera. I need to buy a new microphone. But in a pinch... I can use my old iPhone. It's not the best, but it's actually going to be okay.
