It's a fantastic place. E-Cube 534. Let's go for it. Let's go back in time. Oh, we've got a very nice expression today. It is short and sweet. S-H-O-R-T and A-N-D, sweet.

S-W-E-E-T. So if something is short, that means it's not tall or it's not long. So for example, the movie was short. It was a short movie, not very long.

The opposite of short in this case is long. He is short. That means his height is not very high. The opposite of short is tall. He is tall. He is short.

But once again, long and short can also be short. You know, something is long, it lasts for a long time, a relatively long time. And short would be, well, for a movie, a short movie would be an hour and 20 minutes. A regular movie, about two hours.

A long movie, maybe three hours. Okay, so in this case, short, especially regarding time. And sweet. So if we say short movie, does the word sweet, the adjective sweet, does that work?

Sweet, that's for like candy, right? Sweet cake, sweet buns. Short and sweet is an excellent expression and it means something did not last very long and it was pleasant. It was very nice.

Sweet can have that meaning also. The movie was sweet. The view in the mountains was sweet. This is a great expression, short and sweet, especially when we talk about a speech.

Whether it's your boss or maybe it's a politician or maybe at a graduation or some sort of big party, somebody gives a speech. Do you like long speeches?

Of course not. We like those speeches to be short and sweet. Oh, you're finished with the book? Yep. You want to read it? Maybe. How was it? Short and sweet.

You'll like it. Oh, not just movies, books too. Yeah, actually in our book club we're studying a great book right now and it's full of stories. It's got many, many, many, many, many, many stories and they are short and sweet.

Isn't that cool? Anyway, short and sweet. So speeches, movies, books, this especially is when we use this expression. What's the last book that you read?
