Welcome to E-Cube Daily Easy English Expression. Number 532... I love this. This is what we call an adjective, but it sounds like a verb because we added an ed.

What? The grammar is confusing. But the word, the phrase, the adjective is great. I wonder if you are this word. Enjoy the expression. Let's go back in time.

Today's expression is gifted. Gifted. G-I-F-T-E-D. And we use it as an adjective. He is gifted. He's a gifted singer. He's a gifted pianist. He's a gifted teacher.

He's a gifted language learner. What does it mean to be gifted? Gifted. It means you have an extra special talent. So if you are a gifted cook, that means you cook really well.

You're good at cooking food. You're just not good. You are excellent. You have a very special talent. You have a gift, right? And who is the gift from?

Well, you could say from your mom or your dad. It's a genetic gift. That's for sure. But you could also say the gift is from God or... Whatever you believe in.

Once again, if you do not believe in God, then a gift from your parents. A genetic gift. That's the idea of gifted. When most people use it, we think of a gift from God.

Let's check out the dialogue. What are you gifted at? Sleeping? No serious. Tell me. Hmm... I guess I'm a very good explainer. Yeah, I am gifted at sleeping.

I'm very good at sleeping. A train can be going by my house. I hear nothing. Burglars come to my house. They go in. They steal everything. I'm still sleeping.

They can even steal the bed that I'm sleeping on and I won't wake up. No, I'm just joking. Please don't steal anything. But I am a good sleeper. Yeah, I'm a little bit gifted at sleeping.

But what was the other one? I'm very good at – I'm a very good explainer. Yeah. E-X-P-L-A-I-N-E-R. Is there such a word? I've never heard of the word explainer.

But yeah, I understand it. Somebody who explains well is a good explainer. Why not? I guess that's like a teacher. That's the job of a teacher is to introduce new things and explain them well.

If you want to be a good teacher, you need to be a good explainer. I like it. So what are you gifted at? And don't be shy. You know, some people say, well, I'm not gifted at anything.

No, that's a lie. Who told you that crap? It's absolutely not true. There is something that you are gifted at. Trust me, there is something. Maybe you haven't found it yet.

But I guarantee everybody on earth has a gift at something. Now, if you have a gift at something, it doesn't mean you're the best in the world. For example, I'm a good runner.

But that guy in the Bahamas, Usain Bolt, He's much better than me. But still, I'm a gifted runner. I'm good. I'm not the best in the world, but I'm pretty good.

Yeah, so being gifted doesn't mean you're the best. Who wants to be the best? That's too much stress. Being gifted means you're really, really, really good.

And it might be a little bit natural. Of course you can learn and be really good, but gifted people, it's usually, it seems natural. Usually it's not. Usually they work very hard, but it seems natural.
