Mike, Mikey, he is 8 years old. And Jim, Jimmy, he is 6 years old. Now here's a question. Do you think I buy Jimmy clothes? He's got an older brother.
Yeah, I just let Jimmy wear Mikey's old clothes. Am I bad? Today's expression is all about that. It's perfect. Enjoy it. EQ525. Let's go back in time.
Okay, today's expression, very useful. It's a noun. Hand-me-downs. You don't need the S. This is a hand-me-down. I wear a lot of hand-me-downs. When I was young, I always received...
Hand-me-downs. I hate hand-me-downs. I love hand-me-downs. What are hand-me-downs? Hand-me-downs. Can you spell it? Well, it's actually three words. Listen carefully.
H-A-N-D dash M-E dash D-O-W-N-S. Hand-me-downs. Three different words. Put them together and you have a new great noun. A hand-me-down. So what is a hand-me-down?
A hand-me-down is usually clothing that your big brother or big sister wore. Or in my case, I don't have any big brothers or big sisters, but I have uncles.
And many times when I was young, my mom didn't buy me new clothes anymore. she gave me my Uncle Jim and Uncle John's clothes. Yeah, they were much older than me, but they still had some of their young children's clothes and they kept them for me. So when I got bigger, I would wear their clothes.
