Now, episode 515, let's get started. Let's go back in time. Today's expression is to travel halfway around the world to do something. This is an easy expression, so I want you to use it.

And we use it like this. I would travel halfway around the world... To eat fried chicken and drink beer in Korea. I don't know why I'm thinking of that.

But it's true in South Korea. I'm not joking. The fried chicken and draft beer is so good. It's the best combination. And they do something in Korea to make it really taste really, really good.

I'm serious. If you've ever had... Fried chicken and draft beer in Korea. You know what I mean. It's that good. And right now, I live in America. I would travel halfway around the world to enjoy that.

On the other hand, I would travel halfway around the world... To enjoy German beer. Oh, I would. I would. I would travel halfway around the world to enjoy German beer.

Now, wait a minute. Korea is halfway around the world from where I am. And Germany is also about halfway around the world. I guess maybe a third for both of them.

But what does this expression mean? It means I would do anything to do it. Okay, so in our dialogue, we have a great example. Just check it out, check it out.

Oh, I'd travel halfway around the world to meet Celine Dion. Uh, she lives about ten miles from you. Yeah, but she'd never meet me. True, but I'm sure your heart will go on.

lives about, I don't know, 10, 15 miles from me. I'm not joking. It's like, you know, 20 kilometers. Very close. Very close. But do you think Celine Dion would want to meet me?

Maybe she wants to master American English. She's from Quebec and she speaks French. So when she speaks English, it actually has a bit of a French accent. It is true, Celine Dion.

Anyway, if – now this is if. If I really was a true fan of Celine Dion and Celine Dion said – Cochin, I would like to meet you, but we must meet in Paris under the Eiffel Tower. Then I would travel halfway around the world to meet her.

However, to be honest, I'm not a Celine Dion fan. Who would I travel halfway around the world to meet? Is there anybody? Gosh, I don't think so. I'm sorry.

I guess if there was a chance to meet God, then I would travel halfway around the world. Yeah. You know what? I live next to my mom and dad. But if they lived far away and I had only one opportunity, absolutely I would travel halfway around the world to see my mom, to see my dad.

Absolutely. You too. I know it's true. But is there somebody – That you would travel halfway around the world to meet? Is there somebody, you know, maybe a movie star, a singer, a sports star, maybe a politician?

What about, let's go through history. Let's say you have a chance to meet Gandhi. or Martin Luther King, or, I don't know, somebody terrible, Genghis Khan.

If you had a chance to meet one of these really, really, really famous people, even in history, Jesus, or Mohammed, or who's the, oh, who's the, Mamonides, Mamonides, the doctor. If you had a chance to meet one of these amazing people,

Would you travel halfway around the world to do it? Not in an airplane. Would you hike and swim? We have lots of expressions like this. I would walk 500 miles to be with you.

I would travel halfway around the world to be with you. I would swim across the ocean to be with you. I would climb Mount Everest to be with you. Yeah.

In reality, nobody would do that. But do you have an expression in your country similar to travel halfway around the world to do something? Do you? Really?
