easy english expression rehashed hello everybody my name is coach shane and welcome to easy english expressions come on let's master english Hello, everybody. Coach Shane here. You're listening to the E-Cubed Daily Easy English Expression Podcast Rehash number 467.

We have an adjective today that describes a person, and I really do not like these people. One thing about me is I think I'm sometimes a yes man. I'm too easy to say yes, but at the same time...

I think this type of person is worse. I'm sure I've done this in the past. I hope I don't. But yeah, check out today's expression. It's a great adjective to describe somebody who does something not good.

Enjoy. Let's go back in time. Today's expression is two-faced. Two-faced. Somebody is two-faced. Are you two-faced? Do you think Coach Shane is two-faced?

What does it mean to be two-faced? T-W-O dash F-A-C-E-D. Well, two-faced means you have two faces. But actually it means you have two personalities. So the idea is two.

When let's say person A has, he is two faced. So when he talks to us, he's very nice. But when he talks to other people, he says bad things about us. He, uh, he's not that nice.

Another example would be a politician. Most politicians are two-faced. When we see the politician, the politician says, I will do this. I am like you.

I love you. I want you to have a good life. But actually, what does the politician do? He doesn't do anything for us. He only does things for him and his friends.

He's two-faced. Lots of Hollywood stars and singers are two-faced. We have this image of the Hollywood star, but in reality, in real life, they're very, very different.

And I'm sorry to tell you, Coach Shane, he's a little two-faced too, but I'll explain that after you check out the dialogue. Bill Cosby's on! I love him! Hey, hey, hey!

I'll turn it off! Why? He's the greatest! The Cosby Show! He's two-faced! On TV, he seems nice, but I've heard in person? Woo-hoo-hoo! Oh, boy, yeah. Bill Cosby.

Now, Bill Cosby is a comedian in America. He's a black comedian, very funny guy. I enjoyed him when I was young. He was the host of a children's show.

The show was called Fat Albert, and it was a cool show. Hey, hey, hey. The Fat Albert Show, something like that. Anyway, and then in the 1980s, he had a TV show called The Cosby Show.

It was a great show. It was a black family. He was a doctor, very successful family, and everybody loved it. The Cosby Show. He was like America's dad.

He was the perfect image of a perfect dad. We love him. We loved him. But recently we have found out and he has admitted that he was actually a bad guy.

He was a pretty bad guy with lots of women. And well, I'm not going to talk about it. If you're interested, you can search the Internet for the terrible news about Bill Cosby. And it's really terrible because so many people liked him.

So many people respected him. So many people thought he was a great guy, but he was two-faced. On television, he showed us one personality, but when the camera was off, if there was a woman around him, oh boy, oh boy, oh boy, he showed a completely different personality.

Have you heard of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde? That's the situation. One side of the person is very nice. The other side is this horrible monster. Yeah. Once again, lots of politicians are like that.

Yeah. Even talk show hosts like David Letterman, Oprah Winfrey. Yeah. People say that face to face, they're very, very nice. But in reality, they're not.

Yeah, I don't know. I guess people are people. Humans are humans. And if you give enough money, enough power to people, they'll do some bad things. Not everybody, I know.

There are some great people, that's for sure. Now, earlier I said that I was a little too faced. And I kind of am. I'm not an evil guy. I'm not a monster.

But... People, when they listen to my podcasts or when they watch my videos, they think, oh, wow, Shane, he's so funny. He's so active. He's so handsome.

He's so โ€“ what else? What else am I? Extroverted. People think that I'm very active, extroverted. I talk a lot. But that's only true. On the microphone and in front of the camera.

In real life, I am Mr. Boring. Extremely boring. I never talk to anybody. I never do anything. I just sit in a chair and stare at the wall. All day. That's what I do.

I count the bumps on the wall. My wall is not smooth. It has little bumps. I count them. That's all I do every day. Extremely boring life. I'm two-faced.

People think I'm really fun and exciting, but actually... Now, everybody, be careful with the expression two-faced. When we use this expression, it is used as a negative description. It's a pejorative expression.

If somebody is two-faced, we do not like them. So is Coach Shane two-faced? Well, no, unless you are very disappointed by... That I am actually boring.

Then you could say I'm two-faced. Usually, if somebody is two-faced, one face, they're very, very nice. The other face, they're a monster. They're terrible.

Okay? So to be honest, is Coach Shane two-faced? Not really. Is Bill Cosby two-faced? No. Unfortunately, yes, he is. Can you think of anybody else that's two-faced?

It's not a good thing. It's a sad thing. You can leave a comment if you'd like. But yeah, this is an expression that we do need to know. If your friend is acting two-faced, and sometimes friends do that, you need to tell your friend, hey, you're acting two-faced.

Don't do that. Or we will no longer be friends. You got it? Yeah, it's true. That's today's expression. Check it out two more times. Bill Cosby's on. I love him.

Hey, hey, hey. I'll turn it on. Why? He's the greatest. The Cosby Show. He's two-faced. On TV, he seems nice, but I've heard in person. Woo-hoo-hoo. Bill Cosby's on!

I love him! Hey, hey, hey! I'll turn it off! Why? He's the greatest! The Cosby Show! He's two-faced! On TV, he seems nice, but I've heard in person? Woo-hoo-hoo!
