Easy English Expression. Rehashed! Hello everybody, my name is Coach Shane and welcome to Easy English Expressions. Come on, let's master English! Hello, everybody.

Coach Shane here. We've got EQ number 455 coming at you. This is a beautiful expression. If somebody thinks like you, if somebody has the same opinions as you, then you can use this expression.

Enjoy. Let's go back in time. Do you guys think like me? Let me see. I think that learning languages is a lot of fun. And by learning different languages, we can actually make the world a smaller place and maybe even a better place.

Do you agree? You might disagree. That's fine. But that's what I think. Oh, some of you agree. Oh, that's great. That means we think the same. Our opinions are the same.

And in English, we have this great expression, which is like-minded. We are like-minded. They are like-minded. You need to find somebody who's like-minded.

The people on my team, we're all like-minded. We all think alike. We have the same ideas, same opinions. And on a team, that might be pretty good. But what do you think?

What about in a good, strong partnership? Husband-wife, boyfriend-girlfriend. Maybe a business partnership like Hewlett-Packard or even Google with, what is it, Sergey and Bren or I don't even know their names.

Should those guys be like-minded? Hmm. To be like-minded. To think alike. Let's check out the dialogue. You guys make great business partners. You want to know the secret?

Yeah. We're like-minded. That's so important. Yeah, I think so. When it comes to a business... Being like-minded is very important, especially the philosophy of the business, the culture of the company, the goals of the business, the future, what you want to do in the future, where you want the company to go, how you want the company to grow.

If you have a partner or a team, I think it's really important to be like-minded. And the same thing with a husband and wife. You have to be like-minded. You have to share similar opinions and you have to like similar things.

Not everything, of course. You don't want to marry yourself. But if, for example, one person likes desserts and the other person hates desserts – Well, that's not cool.

That's going to be very stressful. If one person likes to go to the beach and the other person hates the beach, well, that's not cool. That's going to be very stressful on the relationship. You have to, in some areas, you got to be like-minded.

You need to think the same, have the same opinions, have the same goals, share the same ideas. Not 100%, of course, not 100%, but... In a good, strong relationship, in a good partnership, I think being like-minded is important. So I want you to tell me about you and your partner.

Maybe it's a business partner. Maybe it's a school partner. Maybe it's a boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, wife. Are you guys like-minded? How do you differ?
