Let's go back in time. Today we have a fun word to learn and probably you can use it. I use it sometimes. The word is duh. Duh. Duh. The spelling. D-U-H.

But don't say duh. You have to say duh or duh. Either one or the other. So once again, duh or duh. It has to have a lot of feeling. So what does this word mean?

We say this word when we do something stupid. When we say something stupid. When we forget something that is obvious. So I'll give you an example. In a couple of weeks, my mom is having her birthday and my mom sent me an email and basically the email was, I want you to have dinner with me, you know, in two weeks at this restaurant.

And I sent a letter back to my mom saying, oh, mom, I hate going to restaurants. I like to eat at home. No, thanks. And then for like a couple of days, actually, my mom didn't email me and I realized, oh, she must be angry.

And then I realized, oh my God, she's inviting me to dinner on her birthday. Duh. Oh, how can I be so stupid? Duh. So I sent my mom an email and said, uh, I was joking, mom.

Of course I'll be there. Yeah. Well, still, my mother has not replied. I think she's still very angry. Sorry, mom. I just wasn't thinking. But it happens sometimes.

Do any of you drive? Yeah, some of you might drive. And did you ever have the experience of going to your car, but the doors are locked? Yeah. And the keys to the car door are actually in the car.

It happens to some people. Nowadays, the cars, they have ding, ding, ding, ding, ding. They have alarms. The new cars don't let you do that. But the old cars, absolutely that happens.

And when I was a young boy, that happened to me one time. Extremely embarrassing. My car was running. But the doors were locked and I was outside. Yep.

I had to call the police. Very embarrassing. Duh. Oh, my God. So stupid. People do this too. They're busy working all day, working really hard. They're thinking, oh, I want to go home.

Oh, I want to go home. Oh, I want to go home. Finally, it's 6 p.m. They go home. They get home. They look for their keys. And they realize they left their keys at the office.

They can't get into the house. Duh. Oh, no. How can I be so stupid? It's terrible. It happens. Let's check out a dialogue. So you have an online business?

Yes, I teach online. Oh, so you use a computer? Duh. Yeah, we don't only use it to ourselves. We use it to other people too when they say something stupid, when they're not using their head.

So come on. This guy says you have an online business, which means internet, which means computers. So you use a computer? Of course I use a computer.

It's an online business. Duh. What a silly question. My goodness. Do you ever do something stupid? Say something stupid? Forget something obvious? Do your friends ever ask stupid questions?

Yeah. Well, this is the expression to use. Now, be careful. Don't use this expression to your boss. You don't want to make your boss angry. You don't want to make your professor angry.

If your husband or wife says something stupid, feel free. Go ahead. Duh! Duh! And if you have a fight, don't yell at me. I'm just an English teacher. I don't know anything, right?
