To leg it. Oh yes, a verb to leg it. L-E-G, leg. Like, you know, your arms and your legs. To leg it. What does it mean to leg it? It means to walk someplace.

It means to go somewhere using your own physical energy. To leg it means to walk or to run someplace. When I was young and when I went to school, I always legged it. I legged it to school.

I walked to school. Sometimes I ran. Sometimes I rode my bike, but usually I legged it. Even when I went to my friend's house, my friend lived a long distance away, but in the summertime, even in the wintertime, I would leg it.

If my mom did not want to give me a ride, I had to leg it. Nowadays, do I leg it anywhere? No, just for exercise. You know, I moved. I moved a little bit, not really into the country.

However, there are no stores near my house. Actually, the closest store to my house is probably... maybe four or five kilometers. So if I had to leg it to the store and back every day, I would be dying.

No, I don't leg it anymore. But what about you? Do you leg it much? Let's check out a dialogue. How are you getting to the game? I'll leg it. It's three miles.

So the weather's perfect for a nice walk. I do like walking. I average probably three miles a day. Three miles is about five kilometers, sometimes a little bit more.

Of course, for the last couple of weeks, I have not walked at all, zero, but I do enjoy walking. Walking to work, walking to school, that's a different situation. When I was in Korea and I worked at the Language Institute, usually I would take the bus or the subway. Sometimes I would drive.

But sometimes, if the weather was nice, I did enjoy legging it. Sometimes legging it was nice, even though it was a long distance, maybe... eight kilometers to my house, but I liked it.

So what about you? How often do you leg it? Do you leg it to the store? Do you leg it to school? Do you leg it to your office? Do you leg it to church?

Do you leg it to the mosque? Where do you leg it to? Do you ever leg it? Some of us probably never do. It's not a bad idea though. That's today's expression.
