So whole courses. So you learn like an entire movie with me. So I'm just going to talk about some ideas I have. These are not decisions today. I'm not discussing any decisions.

I've just been thinking about this a lot. What we can do with learning with movies. Because actually for many years I have wanted to do some courses and lessons using movies. And of course I want to follow all copyright laws and I will follow all copyright laws.

For sure I will. because that's the right thing to do. But on the other hand, I know that This is a popular, popular topic. For many years, many, many, many years, people have asked me.

This is probably one of my top requests. Please make lessons using the movie technique. Please make a course. Please make more than one course. Make lots of courses for the movie technique and use popular movies, scenes from popular movies, scenes from TV shows, scenes from other kinds of videos, real videos.

And I understand why. Because again, that's where you can learn. There's such a good source, such a good place to learn real, real, real English. Conversational English, idioms, slang, pronunciation, fast speech, different accents.

All of these things are in movies and TV shows. And the movie technique makes it easier for you to learn with. Because just watching a movie... is quite difficult for anyone who's intermediate level, even low advanced level.

Movies and TV shows can be very difficult. It can feel very difficult. You can actually be quite good with vocabulary, quite a good speaker even, but then you watch a movie full speed and it just seems so difficult.

And for intermediate level learners, it's almost always difficult. So the movie technique, of course, is a way to make it easier and to really, really learn, not just watch, but really learn all the English used in the movie or lots of the English used in the movie.

So I want to do this, and I'm just thinking of different ways we can do it. So I'm going to talk about a few more of my ideas and what we might do. We're live on YouTube today, so quick hello to everyone joining. Hi to everybody who's joining.

Buffender, nice to see you again. I'm just going to jump in and keep talking, and then I'll come back to your comments and questions. We can do that when I'm done talking. So yes, like Platform23 says, movies are too difficult for sure.

And they are for most learners. Most people are probably in the intermediate level. That's what most effortless English fans and supporters are. They're kind of intermediate level, low to high intermediate.

Some of you are kind of a low advanced level. But even for, like I said, even for low advanced, movies can be, some movies especially, can still be difficult. The English can be quite difficult. So here's my idea.

I was thinking about today. And I'm thinking of combining, combining, putting together two ideas I have had, two requests I have had for a long time. So, number one, movie lessons.

We have the movie Club coming. I've already mentioned that. Another thing that I need, you know, people have mentioned many times how my podcast, my show, is totally free.

There's no advertising on it, except, of course, I mention my own courses. But many of you have asked me, you know, can I donate? Can you have like a basic membership? Some way to support the show because you're helping a lot of people, but not too expensive.

That's also a nice idea. I like it. But I don't want to use YouTube. YouTube, I could use YouTube and try YouTube memberships. They have a membership function and these super chat donations.

But I don't trust YouTube. They're banning everybody. They take a lot of the money for themselves. So I don't want to support them. So that's also not good.

So here's what I'm thinking. Here's what I'm thinking of doing. A thing of making like a, we might call it a show membership or like a supporter. We could call it a supporter.

Like you're a supporter of the Effortless English show. You're a supporter of the Effortless English podcast. So you're a supporter. And it would be kind of like a low-cost membership, like $9 a month, something low.

And number one, you could do it just to support the show, just to help me pay for the computer costs. Because what I want to do is eventually, We have our own website where I can do live streaming, do the live show on my own website, on our own website, not relying on Facebook, not depending on YouTube. So we don't need to worry if they block us.

We don't need to worry about any of that because we would have all the live streaming, the live show would happen on my own website. But that costs, it's kind of expensive. It's expensive to host podcasts.

your own videos, your own live streaming. But in this way, I would still use YouTube as long as they don't kick me off. I'll still use it. I'll put some recordings there on YouTube.

But... For example, with the movie lessons, I can't do YouTube. They already, just the trailer, just this one little trailer I did with the Matrix just this week, they already sent me a warning about copyright. Even though I'm following copyright law, there was nothing wrong with it, but they're just aggressive.

So we can't use these guys. We can't use them. So I need my own website where I can put these videos and do some streaming. But that requires my own server, streaming,

Special streaming software that I have to buy and own. It's actually kind of expensive. So the memberships would support that. I could buy that equipment and the software and everything needed.

So then our show becomes stronger. We don't need to worry so much. I can be more free. with what I'm talking about and all of that. So number one, it would support that.

Number two, what I'm thinking is, there needs to be a benefit though. I'd like to have some special benefit for supporters. If you're giving a little membership every month, you're supporting the show. And of course, the perfect thing would be, you would get the recordings of the movie lessons.

Not just one lesson. Instead of buying the courses separately, like let's say I do the matrix first. So we'd have a matrix course. At the end, I would have a matrix course.

And I'd sell that just to non-supporters, just to anybody. I'll sell it as a package. But I'm thinking as a special benefit to supporters, those of you who have the monthly membership, this little membership, you would just get that. That would be included in your membership.

So you would get... all the recordings of all the movie lessons. So it would constantly, and you'd get week by week, you wouldn't need to worry about waiting until the end. So the recordings, the permanent recordings of all movie technique lessons, of our movie club lessons, you would, as a member, like I said, it would be inexpensive, it would be under $10, put it that way.

You would get it automatically, every one. So we do one movie, then immediately I'll start a new movie, then a new movie. So basically, you'll constantly be getting new movie lessons all year long with that membership.

So this would be a nice benefit, be a really good benefit, I think, that would be worth that cost. It's actually a very low cost, and you'd be getting lots of great,

movie lessons and doing, of course, you could join live, but you'd get those recordings. And it would be much cheaper than buying them separately. I'll sell them separately. For people who don't want to be supporters, I'll still sell the courses for each movie separately, but it would be much more expensive to do that.

If you get the supporter membership, you support the show, and you would get these movie lessons separately. constantly. You'll be able to get them the recordings and it'll be a much cheaper way to do it. So that's kind of what I'm thinking.

This is what I'm thinking of doing. It will take some time to do it. I have to set up a new website and there's some new things I'd have to do probably maybe end of this year if we're lucky.

But this is my idea. So having a supporter membership and like our own channel for the show and And as part of, as the benefit of being a supporter, having a supporter membership, the benefit would be you would automatically get recordings of all, all current and future recordings.

Movie lessons. So you'd have a huge library. Eventually, after a few years, you'd have a huge library of movie lessons. It'd be fantastic. So that's what I'm thinking of doing, guys.

That's my plan. That's my, well, not even a plan yet. It's just an idea. That's my idea for how to support the channel so I can grow it, so I can have our own channel, not depend on YouTube and Facebook too much.

And number two, how can I give you the courses and how can we create this nice channel? This is my idea, so let me know what you think, and I'll let you know as I go forward, but I think this is how I might do it. Something like this is what I'm thinking.

So, Zuzlina says, yes, cool, yeah, cool, sounds good, great. Is there any difficulty opening English subtitles while watching movies? I can't fully understand, says Mervyn or... It just depends on what you're using.

If you have a DVD, usually it's quite easy. Online streaming, I don't know. It just depends which site you're using. Well, here's a question saying...

I would like to advise me how to understand movies. Well, use my movie technique. That's exactly what I'm talking about right now. That's what I'm going to do.

I'm going to help you understand movies. Not just understand them, but really learn the phrases and the vocab and the grammar and the pronunciation. Really learn everything in the movie or most of it.

Understanding is the first step, but to learn it more deeply. Yeah, well, like Clippy says, one of the nice things about movies, too, is when we watch a movie, the pictures help us to understand the story. They help us a lot. But we need you, AJ, to focus on the messages of the film, like The Matrix.

Yep, the messages and the idioms and the slang and sometimes vocab, things like that, and the deeper meaning, all of these things. Yeah, like Mervinor says again, it would not be boring because watching movies and series is the best for learning languages in a fun way. I agree. Very fun.

Oh, Alexi is saying, what do you think about Old Man and the Sea for book club after Brave New World for the next fiction book? Yeah, that's one I've been thinking about for a while, Old Man and the Sea.

Um... I'll reread it, and then I'll let you know. It's a nice story, but it's very subtle, I would say. S-U-B-T-L-E, subtle. Meaning it's not like super action.

It's about an old man who goes out into the ocean and catches a fish, and then he struggles and struggles and struggles to bring it back. Yeah. There's some deep messages in there from Hemingway.

But anyway, let me reread it and think about it. Brave New World has more obvious messages, like very powerful, strong, obvious social messages. Old Man and the Sea is more, I'd say, psychological, even spiritual.

It looks like an amazing country. It's a special place. Ufendra says, when your website's created, I'll leave this social media. Well, right, this is kind of my idea.

It's a slow process. It's long-term. But yes, the first step is to create a website where I can do live video streaming, these live shows. So instead of doing live on YouTube, instead of being live on Facebook or even Twitch, I can be live on my own website.

Then there's no censorship. And... Also having the recordings, put the recordings there so that people can always just go there and watch all my old videos. So again, even if the social media companies block us on like YouTube or somewhere, well, you can just go to my website and watch there.

So this is kind of step one. And I do the same with the audio, by the way, audio and video both. That's step one. Step two, I may even create my own social media.

We'll see with Gab. Gab is doing some interesting things. It might be possible soon, pretty soon actually, for me to own my own version of Gab to just get a computer server.

And host my own, like kind of a private gab. Not exactly private. We'll make it semi-private. But basically, I would own it. I would control the rules of it.

And it would be for Effortless English fans and members and anyone interested. So then it would be really easy to, no trolls, nothing like that. It's totally our rules. And of course, it would be our code.

It would be our own social media platform using the kind of the Gab software. But the Gab software is now open source, meaning anyone can use it and create their own. So I might do this. I might, you know, our own social media.

That's less important to me. Right now, video and audio is more important. We need that first so we can keep doing the show. But later on, there's another plan I have is that,

I'm sick of Twitter. I'm sick of Facebook. Tired of all of them. And frankly, we don't need them. If we can create our own, something like Gab. Gab's all right.

I like Gab, and I like the improvements they're making this week already. They're looking really nice. So I think that using the Gab software... but having our own version, owning it ourselves.

So it's kind of our own... And it would still connect with the main gab. That's what's cool. It would connect to the main gab. You'd still be able to follow people there and do things there.

But we'd also have... It would be kind of our own little separate version, too. We'd have our own social media. And this way, then, our social media could not be censored or blocked.

The show could not be censored or blocked. And we'd have kind of our own little Leopardist English world online. That's what I'm thinking long term. Then we can stop supporting these California communist countries, companies.

Yeah, like Dave says, then we can delete all social media. I probably will. You know, if we have our own FRL's English gab and we have our own media channel, basically, for video and audio, I don't need these other... We won't need these other guys so much. I mean, I might still use them just so some people can find us, but really...

We'll just focus on our own thing. Because we have such a great community now. So great, so positive, and so strong. We don't need these other guys. Vladislav's coming late.

I missed part of the show. What's the topic today? The topic is about me creating, you know, what to do about with our movie lessons. And I think the idea, again, just to review, is that I might create a membership.

We could call it a basic membership or maybe a supporter, a supporter membership. And this would support the podcast, support this show, which is free.

and it would help me to pay for creating a website with my own servers so that I can do video streaming directly, not use YouTube or Facebook or these other companies because of their censorship. But that costs money. It's kind of expensive, so supporting membership would help pay for that. And then the other thing would be that supporters...

people who had a supporting membership, you would get all the recordings of all future movie technique lessons. So that would be a big benefit for you.

This is the idea. Have you considered doing a MOOC course about effortless English learning method? Maybe. Like I said, you mentioned Coursera. I'm really kind of tired of using these companies.

I don't want to support these outside companies anymore because they can't be trusted. Things like Patreon, YouTube, Facebook, Coursera. I don't own any of those. That means I can't control them.

It means anytime they want, they can block me or you or anyone. They can... take your money that you've been earning there. You use their site and you bring a big audience and you bring all your fans and you're just benefiting them and then suddenly they can block you or delete you.

You have no control about that. So why use these guys anymore? It makes no sense. It makes no sense to rely on YouTube or Google or Facebook or even Twitch.

Twitch is owned by Amazon. It's a temporary solution right now with Twitch, but I really, for the future longer term, I don't want to rely on Twitch either. I want to have my own site where I can stream directly to you and we can do what we want. I can teach you how I want to.

And you can learn with me. You don't need to worry. Is YouTube going to block me? Or is YouTube going to block you? We don't have to worry about any of that anymore.

And it's the same problem with Coursera. Any of these companies, most of them are based in California, some in New York, a few in Austin, Texas. And they're all the same super hard left-wing, brave new world political people. They care more about politics than business.

And they hate half their customers or more. They can't be trusted. You can't build a business with them. So I don't want to use them anymore. I want to get off of these companies.

I'm tired of using them. I want to... to have our own things. My courses, I already have a site, effortlessenglishcourses.com. That's where my courses are.

You buy them on effortlessenglishclub.com, my main website, and then I have a site where you get all the course material, VIP or Power English. So I really don't need Coursera. I don't need any of those. I already have something like that.

Yeah, asking, you know, there's always some way they might try to attack. What about the domain? Google doesn't like what you're doing. They can block your site.

They can, but that's a lot more serious. It's a lot more difficult for them to do. They can do it. They have done it to some people. But there are some ways around this too.

You know, it's step by step, guys. You have to, you know, it's little by little. There's blockchain technology coming. There's other things coming, but they're not quite ready.

So we're going to make, I start with the media stuff because that's where they're most aggressive and blocking. Yeah, something like the domain is something in the future that I will be looking at ways to back that up also.

Bakir says, will you do Disney cartoons on Twitch to show us the evil idea that brainwashed our children? Maybe. It's not a bad idea. Just as like a special show sometime.

Pick a little clip, a little piece from Disney. Now, Disney is an evil company, super powerful, and they're very aggressive, so they probably will get it removed very fast.

Like Motion says, Say no to Facebook. Say no to YouTube. Say no to Amazon and all evil companies. Build your social media and have cyber freedom. Exactly.

Build your own channel. Build your own platform. That's what I plan to do with Effortless English. Build our own as much as possible. Of course, yeah.

The other thing is you do have to use companies for some things, but it's just finding companies that are not in California. Ideally, companies that are not even in America.

especially Asian countries. I think the Asian companies are better. Not China, but other countries like Japan, Singapore. These countries, I think, would be better overall.

Eastern Europe also. Eastern Europe, not West Europe, but Eastern Europe. There's also some good companies and services that are better, much better. So don't use California, Silicon Valley companies for anything if you can avoid it.

Evgeny says, why do you call them communists? I'm from Bulgaria. I don't find anything in common with YouTube and communism. Well, you don't understand then, do you?

YouTube is a completely communist company. Number one, they're not capitalists. They don't make money. They lose money. So they're supported by government and supported by the bigger company, Google.

But it is completely just for the purpose of mind control and controlling the media and propaganda. The workers at YouTube, they all believe in equality, just like an animal farm, right? Everybody's equal. But some are more equal than others.

There's actually many, many similarities. They have the same mindset and they want to promote the same idea. It's just a newer version of communism. You might call it corporate communism.

Corporate communism. It's the same mentality. Very much like animal farms. Very much like Animal Farm. YouTube doesn't care about money anymore. Yeah, they don't care about money at all.

It's all about propaganda and censorship. That's what they care about. They lose billions of dollars every year. They're not a business. Sylvia says, my love is English language.

I like to speak like a native speaker. What do you recommend to me? Because I can't think in English. How can I think in English? Well, that's a super big question.

I recommend read my book or just watch a lot of my videos on YouTube or on VidShoot. And, you know, pretty much most of my videos are about that question.

Lisa, talking about our next movie, Bruce Lipton, who's a biologist, said, people have seen the movie The Matrix. They say that's a science fiction movie.

And I say this is a documentary. We've all been programmed. So Bruce Lipton says The Matrix is a documentary. And he's right. Of course, not literally, but right.

We've all been programmed. John White, what about access to your website movie technique for people who can't pay membership? Well, probably continue to do the live one for free for people who can't pay, but the recordings will be for the membership or you can buy the course after.

So I think that's a fair way to do it. Yeah, like Buffender says, most of social media companies are evil. They don't think about people. I hate them.

Me too. I don't like them, and I've met. I know what kind of people they are. I lived in San Francisco for six years, so I know who they are. They're not good people at all.

What is the best web browser for Gab? Well, Gab actually created their own web browser. It's called Dissenter, D-I-S-S-E-N-T-E-R, Dissenter. It's a version of Brave.

I use Brave right now for my browser. which I'm quite happy with. It's very nice. I might check out the Gab browser later. Maybe. Yeah, like Merrick said, there's one problem with communism.

It does not work at all. It doesn't. It works for the people at the very top who get all the power and all the wealth and all the control. And everybody else, 99.9% of the people, suffer.

Just look at Venezuela right now. We see it again. It's happened again and again. Just look at Venezuela. Does anyone want to live in Venezuela right now?

No, they're all running away. They're all trying to escape Venezuela. It's sad. Used to be a nice country. Yeah, Lexi says, I think the elite have bigger plans than Brave New World.

I think it's just half of what's happening and what will happen in the future. Oh, you're right. I believe so. I think if you want the other half, read 1984 by George Orwell.

Or, you know, the easy version is Animal Farm, which we did. They use Brave New World to get us, you know, 90% under control, which they almost have already done. And then they really start to kill people and murder people, and it becomes quite horrible.

Ian asked, what about Instagram? Is it communist? Yes, it's owned by Facebook. Facebook owns Instagram. This is the thing, you know, this is the other kind of communist thing.

Just like in communism, like the government owns everything. Well, in this corporate communism, a few companies own everything. You think there's so many apps and companies? You know, Instagram, and oh, we have so many choices.

No, you don't. Instagram's owned by Facebook. You know, YouTube used to be independent. Then Google bought them. These giant companies buy all their competition.

So there's really not much competition. Because as soon as a company starts to grow and become more popular, like Twitch, what happens? A giant company buys them. Twitch was becoming quite independent.

So what happened? Amazon bought them. Now it's just Amazon. They don't tell you, so it's hard to know. You don't realize that actually there are only a few companies in almost every industry.

It's the same with food in America. People think, oh, there's so many companies making food. Look at them all. There are hundreds. No, no, there's like five.

Those five companies own everything, including the health food brands. You go to Whole Foods in America, it's a health food store. Maybe the fresh food is okay, but anything in a box, it's owned by the same giant companies.

The same giant companies, Procter & Gamble. You look and you say, oh, this is a completely different company. It's some cool small company. No, no, they were already bought by the giant companies.

All right, Lisa. Now, those of you on Gab, by the way, Gab is right now they're changing their system, their software. So they're having some, probably for a few days, Gab might be down or not working well. But I've seen the new design.

I like it a lot. I think it is a better system they have now. I already see it looks good. But they're having some, you know, this is normal. They're having some bugs right now.

It's not working. I can't publish right now on Gab. Can't post anything at the moment. This will all get fixed. Also, the groups, our Gab group, Effortless English group on Gab, it's gone for like two weeks.

They're going to change the group function also. It'll come back. Don't worry. So right now, probably just Twitter is when I'll announce on Twitter when I go live and Facebook.

So my Twitter and my Facebook both. I'll post a message. I'm going live. But I think the basic function of gab should work probably tomorrow, I think.

Hopefully tomorrow. Just one day. All right. Yeah, like Motion says, I wish all social media would be cut off for one day. Then people will see they'll be better off.

I'm happy to be here now. I'm watching the movie Eat, Pray, Love. Have you watched it before? I have seen it. It's about travel. Julia Roberts. Omar says, why did those small companies agree to be sold to the big ones?

Money. Money. Greed. Why else, of course? Of course, why else? These small companies, you know, they have small budgets. They're not making a lot. Suddenly, Google says, we'll give you, you know...

$300 million to buy YouTube. Boom. So the owners, they want money. They can suddenly become super rich. So they do it. They sell to Amazon. They sell to Google.

They sell to Facebook. Money. Greed. Taha says, I think Animal Farm is the best book you did until now. It has too many deep ideas I still remember until this moment.

This is the book which made me know who's AJ, by the way. Well, yeah, it's a powerful book. It's a very well-written book. It's George Orwell, who's a very good writer.

It's a powerful topic. He understood that topic very, very well. In many ways, like Animal Farm, you know, 1984 is his other really big famous book about the same, more or less the same topic. But Animal Farm is so great because it's like he takes a lot of the ideas of 1984 and the truths and he puts them into this, you know, fable with animal characters and in a kind of a short story

Very clear, very powerful. It's like it puts it all into this little short story, short book with animal characters, but it's so powerful, so clear, very well done. I think the reason it was a good book club is because it's a very good book.

Kinoko says, very good to see you again. I quit Facebook. I quit Instagram. I quit Twitter, except for Gab. After that, I realized, man, I have so much time to do important things.

I have reduced stress in my life. Yeah, exactly, right? I mean, because people are always doing this, you know, kind of for business reasons. I am on many different social media.

But honestly, I'm tired of it. I have a Telegram. I got on Instagram last year, Facebook, Twitter, of course, Gab. And I'm not talking about the video stuff, just the regular, like you post something.

You post words or you post a picture. And honestly, I'm tired of it too. It just wastes a lot of time. There's no need to have five different social...

networks. There's no point. It just wastes tons of time. It's just the same thing. They're all the same. They're all the same. You post some text and you post a picture or maybe a link to a video.

They all do exactly the same thing. It's just some of them on Instagram, the picture's bigger and the text is small. On Twitter, the text is more important and the images are smaller.

On Facebook, it's kind of both. But it's the same thing. They're all the same. They don't do anything special. It's some text and maybe some images or video.

That's all in a link. So they all do exactly the same thing. So why do we need to be on five different ones? We can just choose one. It's nice. We want to communicate with each other.

Effortless English family, you can ask me questions, give me ideas and suggestions. I love that. That's all I care about. I don't use it in my personal life anymore.

My personal Facebook, I basically do not use. Okay? I have real friends and real family. And what do I do? I contact them directly. I don't need Facebook.

I call. I talk to my mom on the phone. I talk to my dad on the phone. I talk to my sister on the phone. I don't want to use Facebook. I talk to my closest friends, Kristen and Joe and others.

Or I'll send them a text using my phone. I direct text. I directly talk to them. Real direct communication. The only thing I want social media for is to connect with you, my students, my fans, and answer questions and have our community.

That's all I care about. So, really, we only need one. We only need one for that purpose. We don't need five. I don't like Facebook. They spy on you. They steal your stuff.

They listen to your conversations. They do terrible things. I don't like Twitter. There are tons of censorship against free speech. They... They don't show my tweets to everybody.

Instagram, honestly, Instagram I find boring because I don't like pictures. I don't take photos much. My Instagram is just full of the same photo. It's just like me sitting in a chair.

There's no point. When I post on Instagram, I post some little text to try to give you a little information, but I always have to do a photo with it. And it's just the same boring photo. I'm not into photography that much.

So quite honestly, that's why I don't really care about Instagram. So the truth is, of all of these, Gab is the most free speech. They're the best for free speech. It's the most free, the least censorship.

The new system with Gab, I might be able to own my own version of it. And then we just use it for Effortless English, just for our family, our Effortless English family, our community.

And that's all. That's all I personally care about. You can have Twitter if you want. You can have Facebook if you want. But I think more and more for me and Effortless English, it's going to be mostly Gab and these other ones.

I'm going to be less and less. Already, you see on Facebook, I do very little. The only thing I do on my Effortless English Facebook is the live show sometimes. That's all.

I really post nothing else on my Facebook, even the business one, Effortless English. I do nothing on my personal Facebook. Twitter is getting less and less. You probably noticed I'm getting less and less active on Twitter too.

It's a one-person company. So it's not the kind of company that a larger company would buy. Number two, I don't want to do it. I don't care about that.

I don't need a billion dollars. I don't need millions of dollars. I'm fine. Yeah, like Music World says, people are doing this already. We could share our Skype ID on Gav and talk to each other, the Effortless English community.

I think it's a good idea. Am I right? You are right. People are doing this already. It's a great idea. You can create conversation groups. We've got several of them.

Many Effortless English members, VIP members, fans have done this already. It's a good idea. Sleepy says, yeah, it's called a network effect. The benefits of these big social media is they're famous, so they have a lot of users.

Gab needs to become more famous. I think they will grow, probably never as big as Twitter or Facebook, but we don't need it. Again, I don't care. I'll be honest.

Any of you who have a business, there's a great book. It's called Social Media is Bullshit. It's a business book, and I agree with the title 100%. You don't make money off of Facebook.

Almost nobody makes money from Facebook. The idea that you will create a business and then grow a big Facebook page and that's going to make you rich, it almost never happens. It's not a good business plan. Same with YouTube, same with any of these companies.

You cannot build a business using these companies. You're crazy if you try to do it. Can they kind of help you? Yes, especially YouTube, probably the most useful for that, but a few other channels.

But overall, it's not a good business model, so I don't recommend it. Ashraf says, I am Batra from Morocco. My friend's always asking me to help them in English because my English is good. How can I give them the right way to learn English?

They speak Arabic. Please tell me. Well, you know, everything I write in my book or on my seven rules, the seven rules email course is free. So if their English is super low, they can't understand, well, you can tell them in Arabic, right?

Just get those seven rules. It's on my website. There's an email course. You can sign up on effortlessenglishclub.com. With each email, you can translate it into Arabic and give them the basic method.

Then they can use it themselves. Katie says, do you think a lot of young people are making money by being YouTubers? No, not much. It's insignificant money.

They try to publicize this. They'll choose a few super famous like PewDiePie. PewDiePie has 40 what? Millions and millions. 45 million or more subscribers.

And also they already with PewDiePie they've already censored him. They're starting to cause problems with his money. Even PewDiePie is now realizing that he cannot depend on YouTube for money.

Even though he has 40 plus million subscribers and even he cannot depend on YouTube to make money. He's trying to find and create other ways to make money. So this idea, it's a stupid idea. Anyone, if you're young and you think you'll be a YouTuber and become rich,

That's like gambling. That's like trying to win the lottery. Can it happen a few times? Yes. It's a stupid business plan. Don't do it. If you want to be a business person, learn how to do it.

Wajdex says, what do you think of flashcards to learn more advanced vocabulary? Are they useless? I read a lot, but I'm afraid I can't remember new words.

I don't know if there's any research about this. My personal opinion is I don't like flashcards. I use them very occasionally. but I find I very quickly get bored with them.

I think it's better just to read more. Okay, if you have 10 minutes, use it to read instead of using it for flashcards. You will forget some vocabulary. You will forget new words, but then you'll see them again and again and again as you read more, and eventually you'll remember them.

So I personally am not a fan of flashcards. Kalyan says, AJ, you had a huge effect on me. Your shows are great. Could you please show me a way to get your courses in Iran?

You can't really do it at the moment. Watch the live movie course, movie lessons on Twitch. So watch those on Sundays because then you can get that. The live one is going to be free.

The Matrix is going to be free, the live one. So that's the best way. Nora says, I just use Facebook, Twitter, and Twitch just to watch Effortless English, other topics that I care about. Yep, right, that's how you use it.

That's a good point. Let's see. Writing a book is a great way to make money. Not directly. You're not going to get rich from publishing a book either.

Not directly. From the sales, from the book sales. Don't make much money from that. I have a book, so I can tell you. And my book is a bestseller. It sold a lot.

But you don't make a lot of money from books. But on the other hand... Having the book kind of promotes you so people learn about you, and then that can support your other business. So in that way, so books are still good.

I'm not saying books are bad, but to make money by writing a book and selling it just from that is very, most people, again, don't make much. Do some research online, the average number of book sales, how many books most books sell. It's under 2,000. And then just do the math.

How much money do you make from an average book? I'll be generous. Let's say you make $7. So that's $14,000 from a book. And then you have cost. There's printing costs and other things.

You're lucky if you make $10,000 and that's selling a decent amount. And most people sell less than that. So you're not going to get rich doing that. You're probably not going to be able to live off of that.

But if you use it and then you have another business also, then it can actually be a good thing. Kind of a business course today. Interesting. Alright, Yes Man.

Vitaly is recommending the movie Yes Man with Jim Carrey. We might do Jim Carrey. I think he's funny. His old movies are funny. He kind of went crazy recently.

He's not very funny anymore. But he used to be quite funny. And his humor is physical, so it's international. That's the nice thing. Some humor, some jokes...

...are very cultural... ...depends on the culture... ...like maybe I might go and watch... ...a comedy from India... ...for example... ...and maybe like Bollywood... ...and maybe I watch it... ...and I think this is not funny at all... ...everybody... ...all the Indian people... ...are laughing and laughing... ...and I'm watching... ...and I don't understand... ...like why is this funny... ...this is stupid... ...or this is boring... Why? Because that kind of humor, it might be cultural. So the jokes and everything depends on Indian culture, understanding Indian society.

So the Indians are laughing, and I'm not because I don't understand it. I don't understand the culture. And, of course, it's the same for any culture, right? So you might watch an American comedy, and this isn't funny, but all the Americans think it's super funny.

So that's one kind of a cultural humor. But then there's also kind of more international humor. It's more physical, like Jim Carrey, like Mr. Bean. And that's why they are very popular internationally, because everyone understands their humor.

It's funny because it's so physical. You don't need to understand British culture or American culture anymore. It's the funny situations are obvious to everyone. So that's good.

Those kind of comedies we can do for our movie club because everyone can understand them. Yeah, like Alexei says, I used to have a YouTube channel. I was making some videos about bodybuilding.

And what's interesting, YouTube was stealing so much money by means of partnership program that YouTube suggested. Exactly. Yeah, like, you know, I understand. Abraham says, I understand social media is evil, but I found you on YouTube three years ago.

You have to understand, too, that it's changing. This is the problem, too. It's changing. It's not the same anymore. You know, YouTube started as an independent company.

It was super free. And it was so creative. And it was just lots of small creators like me and many, many, many, many, many others. And huge freedom. Then what happened?

Google bought them. Google bought them. And then... Step by step, year by year, the freedom has gotten less and less and less. Google's censorship and control worse and worse.

And now it's getting really bad now. Now, really, really, really bad. So it's not the same as three years ago, even. Three years ago, Google owned them, but it was still more free.

But now, it is so bad with the big ones. Google and Facebook and Twitter are the worst ones. And... There are others too, but those are the big three, and they're really, really terrible.

And so it's not the same as before. So I agree. That's why I'm on YouTube still. I know people find me on YouTube, and it's sad because in a way, I just want to use their – I would like to be a nice customer.

I would use their – I have a lot of followers, almost 1 million, so that helps support YouTube. Honestly, it's free, but I would pay money. I'd pay them a monthly membership to host my videos. So I'm willing to be a good customer for them.

And I'm not screaming hateful stuff or I'm not doing anything against the law. But they don't care. They don't care. They have changed and they have decided that they hate.

Half or more of their audience, they have decided they are going to be super political, like Brave New World in 1984. They've decided that they want to focus on politics. They don't care about having a business and making money and just serving everybody.

So now, it's not so good. I'll continue to use them for now because it's practical. But if you look ahead, you just have to use your imagination. We see what they used to be like.

We see what happens over time. We see what's happening right now. What do you think it's going to be like five years from now, five years later? It's going to be much, much worse.

Ten years later, it's going to be super bad. Who knows? YouTube might not even survive that long. I don't know. Because they're destroying so much of their lives.

Good creators and customers. Now what YouTube wants is just big companies. They want big companies to dominate YouTube. They want to get rid of all these little small independent voices, especially ones that are saying red pill things.

So it's just looking ahead. Okay, right now it's still useful. It's why I'm using it still. But you have to be smart and you have to look ahead, especially if I have a business that I have to run and I have all of you who are students who want to learn with me.

So I have to think ahead. I have to think ahead a few years of what's going to happen in the future. And it's very clear what's going to happen in the future with YouTube and Facebook and Twitter. It's very, very clear.

They're going faster and faster in this direction. Right now, it's bigger names that they're attacking and targeting and getting rid of and blocking. But eventually, it'll be smaller and smaller and smaller. And they're going to clear out.

They're going to get rid of everybody they don't like. And I guarantee that will include me at some time. So I'm not going to wait until then. I'm going to go ahead and start planning now so that you can continue to learn with me and I can continue to teach you.

That's why I'm doing it. I'm not saying I'm going to get off YouTube tomorrow, but we have to think ahead, guys. You have to think ahead a little bit.

Ah, Elena, on a different topic. I listened to your podcast about Japan and about your mom's visit. I learned a lot about Japan, and now I'm so excited to visit Japan. Yeah, great.

I have done that on my audio podcast. I've talked about Japan sometimes. And a lot of people say they like it and it makes them want to visit Japan. I joke, I say, I should be sponsored by the Japanese tourist office.

I would have my own servers and my own social media, and then it's mine. So then I don't need to worry anymore.

I don't have to care. I don't care what the main Gab.com, I don't care what they do because I'll have my own version. Just for effortless English. I don't care what happens on YouTube because I'll have my own video streaming and recording site.

That's the plan. But it takes some time. It's going to be a few years to do this. But that's what I'm talking about. And it'll probably be smaller. It'll be smaller.
