How are you? Well, good to have you here today. Come on in. It has arrived, guys. I can now say officially, summer has arrived in Daytona Beach. It is hot, man.
And it's humid, man. Thundershowers are everywhere. But good, I got air conditioning and you are with me. I need a boost. I need a daily boost. I need a daily boost.
It is the Daily Boost from MotivationToMove.com. How are you? My name is Scott Smith. Thanks for stopping by today. Really good to have you here today, and really thank you for stopping by.
I was in the sauna this morning. Strange place to be on a hot day, but why not go in an air-conditioned building and go sweat? That's really hot. I can step out in the front yard, and I can do that myself, but I'm in the sauna today.
And I'm talking to my friend whose name I have no idea what it is. Have you ever had that? A friend that you know, you talk to every single day, you see every single day, you seem to be best friends. Everybody says, you guys are best friends.
You all know each other, but I don't know his name. He's from Nepal. I know that. He did tell me his name at one time, and I couldn't understand. That's what it sounded like to me.
That's what I sound like to most people, by the way. Anyway, he said his name. And I don't know what it is. He knows my name really, really well because he's in network marketing.
He wants to recruit me. He got my name right away. But we're talking a little bit today and I had this moment. It was a bit of a senior moment, I guess, because he said to me, Scott, Scott, how was your weekend?
And I paused for a second. I was thinking about my weekend. And he said, what's this? What are you pausing for? He said, you're always fast. You're always like, I mean, you're faster than me.
You're challenging me. I heard your podcast. You even talk fast. What's this pause? And I said, you know what it is, if I give you the right answer right now?
He goes, yes, tell me, what are you pausing for? I said, I'm pausing because it just didn't matter to me. It was just a good weekend. I just did, I guess I did a little bit of work.
I went to the gym. I went and saw the movies, saw Disclosure Day, Steven Spielberg movie. I came home for a little bit. I had to go serve at the church that night.
I kind of did some audio work for a service on Saturday night. Went back Sunday morning. And then I kind of watched some TV and did some stuff on Sunday, just kind of a chill weekend. I guess that's what I did.
I said, but you can guarantee something. If I didn't like it, I would have told you all about it. He goes, oh, you would bitch and went all over the place. I said, yes, I would.
If it was so bad, I would complain. But he was like, man, I like that idea. You just, it just, yeah, I just kind of drifting in the moment there. So we could talk a little bit about that.
It was a fun moment. My question you would be, you know, somebody asked you like that. The reason I said I wasn't even thinking about it, and it did mean something to me. It meant that I was just content in the moment.
And I got it. I got it immediately when I said that. I said, oh, life is good. I want to do that again. How about you? So he gets up and he leaves because he got hot.
He was there before I was. And my other buddies came in. At this point, the age group is probably mid-40s to mid-60s. And we were masterminding in the sauna.
I said masterminding. I'm being very careful how I say that, trust me. Masterminding in the sauna. And fortunately, we do some things that are kind of cool.
One other gentleman, I mentioned his name, Billy, from time to time. He's a grown man. We call him Billy, though. And we're kind of in the same business, a little bit different.
He does some coaching and consulting, stuff that I do, speaking, the whole thing. He does that as well. And he gets to influence and impact people, just like I get to do.
My other buddy doesn't do that. He's in the medical services of some type. I don't know if he's a doctor yet, but he makes a good amount of money. And he does that.
But we have good conversations across the board. And we got talking about kind of the blessing that we have and how grateful we are to having done what we've done. Because every single case in every single one of us, we had had other careers. In some cases, many.
one guy's got a couple of different retirements already because he's just done three different careers, right? So a lot of us have done a lot of different things. They're just really the blessing that it is and the blessing that we have kind of decided to land where we've landed with, I think, the focus that we'll always continue to grow and do more and look for that next thing, right?
And that's where it all started. And Billy looked at me and goes, so what do you think it is? When you're working with your people all the time and when you're thinking about yourself, what do you do?
Where do you focus? Are you focusing on how they get what they want or focusing on how they can make money and all that kind of stuff? I said, well, that's part of what we do. Absolutely.
Yeah. Got to figure stuff out. You don't have any money. You got to make some, right? Talked about that yesterday. I said, but honestly, my focus is on the other side of the money.
He said, what do you mean by the other side of the money? I've never heard anybody say that. I said, I know it's me. I say stuff like that, right? Other side of the money.
Just like us. We've had careers. We've had all kinds of learning. We've traveled the world. We've done the stuff, right? Had the cars, had everything.
I talked about it again a little bit yesterday. In other words, you made the money. Whether you're rich, whether you have just kind of hit that bar, you're there.
And you're like, now what? I love that part because I love it. Because when I find somebody who's done that, Something that the internet would call restless.
All it means is this. It means that you kind of come to a place in your life where you have earned the money. You've got yourself at a place where you're pretty good. Maybe you're still struggling.
Yeah, maybe you're like, well, darn, AI is coming. How am I going to get to the next level? Maybe that's a reason for change right now. And it is for a lot of people.
A lot of my clients are that way. Like, man, I got to the other side of it. Well, let me tell you exactly what it is. A lot of my clients are like, I've earned a great living.
I've got the retirement. I've got things. I get the house, the whole thing. Life is pretty good. But now what? That's kind of what they're saying. They're on the other side of the first money, but now AI is scaring them because maybe they're going to have to do something else.
But here's the caveat. They don't want to do it without having an impact. They don't want to go back to the thing that they lost to begin with. They want to do something bigger, which is I feel so blessed about what I'm able to do.
I can every single day impact somebody, even if I'm talking to myself right now. And I just want to do it totally by myself. But this will go out and a whole bunch of people all over the world will hear this thing. And there's a couple of words in here that a couple of people will hear that will change your life today.
I know that. I'm not going to change everybody's, and you may not even like me. You might have been gone by now. You might be thinking about getting off the podcast right this second.
But there's somebody who shut this podcast down two minutes ago because I said something that resonated so deeply with them, they had to stop and take notes.
I just know that. It's a great place to be. It's the other side of money when you start to make those choices, and you start saying, now what? Well, and he asked me that.
He said, okay, so what do you tell people? And it's now what? And my question was very simple. Actually, it wasn't a question. It was a question at first when I thought about it, and I've been saying this now for many, many months now, maybe years.
The question started as what's worth building. That's what it started as. I don't say it as a question anymore. I say it as what's worth building a statement.
It's what's worth building a statement. And that sticks with so many people and stuck with him. And he said, are you asking me? And I said, no, I'm just making a statement.
What do I do? I do what's worth building. And I think you get to a certain point in life, certainly when you get on the other side of money. Maybe you've had a job.
Maybe you're at the point where you're going to start a side hustle or business, whatever it happens to be. I don't know what it is, but the big question in my mind, you can't get me moving unless I know what's worth it.
I just won't even do it. So as the conversation went on, it kind of came down to, I was talking to my other friend there, and I said, man, you have proven you can do just about anything.
In fact, he's the guy with three retirements right now. Now he's talking about trying to get a fourth one. I said, oh, that's awesome. He won't retire.
He's talking about retirement money. That's what he wants, right? He doesn't want the retirement. He wants the money that comes from it. See, he wants it on the other side of the money times four.
He's proven he can do anything he wants to. I unequivocally have proven I can do anything I set my mind to. I've done it 10,000 times now. Most of it were bad mistakes.
You know, what was I thinking goals? This is, I got a goal. Went to a seminar, read a book. Somebody got me fired up. I went and did it. And about three months later, I said, what the hell did I do that for?
What was I thinking? Truth is, I wasn't. I got fired up. But I've proven that I can do it. Billy, the same thing. He's a very effective speaker these days.
He wasn't when I met him a year and a half ago. He's a beginner. He's 20 years behind me on his career. And I felt like I was kind of preaching the choir about a year and a half ago.
What's happened is a lot of what I predicted a year and a half ago is absolutely coming true. And he's admitted to it. He said, I should have listened to you. I said, you did.
We're just working out together. We're doing coaching, masterminding together. He's working up a little bit differently, right? But he figured out what was worth him building.
He has proven he can build it and he can do it. And so the trick now, as this conversation kind of went further with him and for me and everybody else, and I live in this world all the time, you will hear this play out on my podcast. You'll see me shift gears. Some of you get mad at me for doing that.
God, what did you do that for? Why did you go that direction? What was I thinking is what I'll tell you. I don't know what I was thinking. Sometimes I thought it would work.
Sometimes it didn't work. I don't know. But this is a problem. This is where it all comes down to. This is where I spend 95% of my time when I'm working with people.
It's not figuring things out because figuring things out is pretty easy. You already got stuff figured out. You do. You might be a little confused. You might have too much on the table you've already figured out and you don't know what step to take.
That's the issue. I used to help people figure stuff out. I don't help them figure out anymore. I help them choose. That's what I do. Gotten really good at it.
See, once you've proven you can do anything, the real problem becomes how to pick the one that's worth it. That's the key. To pick what's worth it, to put your time and your energy and your focus on. Because only when you do that will you actually get up and go out and build it.
That's the bottom line with it. And if it's not worth it, you're not going to build it. And if you're going to go try to build it for a while, eventually you'll give up and you'll fall off the wagon because of it. So that's the key.
So yeah, I kind of live on the other side of money. I want to know what's worth building and I want to... I want to take that I know I can prove I can do anything. I want to pick what's really worth it.
I want to go do it and go build it. All right, I'm done. I'll see you tomorrow.
