How are you? Well, happy, happy, happy Friday. Come on in here. I'm so happy to have you here today. We're running kind of a theme last week and this week, something I've never done before on the podcast at all.

This time we're talking about using goals to create the freedom in life that you want and taking you through a process to do that. I need a booster. It is the Daily Boost from MotivationToMove.com. My name is Scott Smith.

Good to have you. I kind of brought in a theme, the freedom theme. First week, kind of a peaceful base, knowing that we all just want to be at peace. We want to relax, right?

We want to know life is cool. We're good. But I don't know about you. The very minute I get peaceful, I want to shake things up. I do. Now, over time, I've learned something.

I have learned that, no, I'm going to have a good solid foundation, and then I will play. That's what I will do. It's like having money. I got enough money, but do you have FU money, right?

That's the deal. So we have to have the peaceful base. And if you have the peaceful base, life is just better. It's boring. You don't want to do it. I get it.

You just want to go have some fun. That's why we're focusing on the fun this week. But if I can get you to kind of build that base and go for the fun simultaneously, we got a winner here. We do.

By the way, if you like the theme, like the fact that I kind of jumped on a theme, I kind of wrapped, I didn't mean to do it. Of course I didn't. I'm not that strategic, am I? But I wrapped it around freedom.

And then I kind of decided that was the first thing. I said, well, listen, let's do the first one. Let's wrap it around freedom, but let's build the base and take what I was talking about and build it over five days. And then I said, well, let's do the other side of it and let's build that over five days.

That's the difference. I've never done that before. If you like me doing this kind of thing, send a note to Scott at dailyboozepodcast.com and say, Scott, I like it. Do more of it.

If you don't like it, say, Scott, don't ever do that again. It sucks. And if you don't say a word, you didn't cast a vote, it doesn't matter. You're not in the game.

Up to you. Scott at DailyBoostPodcast.com. Did that sound mean? I'm making a couple of changes here. I have some stuff that I will bring to you in due time about some of the stuff.

I don't want to go there. You're going to start to hear it in me. I'm going to take you down a path that you've been thinking about and dreaming about. You've looked at why you do things and why you don't do things.

And you wondered why things get in your way and everything else. I'm going to take you down a path I've been working on for several months now. And it started with me looking in the mirror.

And why the hell isn't things working the way I want them to? Why this? Why that? And I finally said, I'm going to do some deep diving on it. And I started to do it and begin to implement things in my life.

It's going to blow your mind. Just saying. That's all I'm going to say. Okay, so today, some ignition as we work through our goals. If you haven't heard these shows, go back and listen to, well, I've listened to them all the last two weeks, and certainly go back to the Monday show of this week, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and now the Friday show.

Scott, get to the point. No, this is the point. This is what I do. I'm not going to stop doing it. So we want to blast off, right? So we're in the back half of the year, back half of 2026.

Okay. I have always really been motivated by the end of June, the beginning of July. I don't know why. It's always hit me this way, and I get so motivated, and I start throwing stuff out at the end of June.

I do. I just clean up messes, change everything. Can I be honest with you? I think I mentioned this last week. A lot of y'all take vacation. You don't even talk to me.

You don't send me emails. You don't communicate. You will leave me just to make the podcast and shut up and just go do my job, right? I said, well, heck with you.

If you're going to be out of town not paying attention to me, I'm going to do whatever I want to do. So I start throwing stuff out and I start building what I want for the next year. That's what we're doing this week. Oh, inside baseball right there.

In a good, happy way. I mean, I'm just doing what I do and you too, right? So everything we built this week was to get you here today. As I've said many, many years, planning is not the place that we want to be doing.

We don't want to be just doing that. We want to be moving. We have to make something happen. So pretty much we can take everything I've talked about here and give you the six words that I've said for so long.

Is it six words? Yes, it's six words. Six words I've said for such a long time that will take your goal and make it real. I talked about the decision, right?

You have to decide to do it, come up with the idea and decide. After that, motivation is automatic. Call it what you will after that. I don't care what you call it.

I just know this. If you're excited enough, you're motivated to sell. That's all I know. And if you're excited about the decision you made, nothing will stop you and ever stand in your way.

All you have to do is stand up, take a step, repeat. I coined that phrase 25 years ago. Stand up, take a step, repeat. You stand up, you take a step, and you just keep going.

You figure it out. Your plan will never survive the battle you're about to fight. The only thing that will survive is that you keep taking a step and adjust along the way.

You don't think your way to Mars at all or wherever you're going. You don't do that. You step your way there. Thinking will happen. It will happen. You'll figure it out.

But if you're not stepping, you'll never get there. Most of y'all, yes, I really mean that. You're thinking of it. You're thinking through it. You're not doing anything.

No, you're doing stuff. You are. You're doing all the stuff that you think is going to get you there, but you're not getting rid of the stuff that's blocking you.

You step your way there, which means you have to look at obstacles differently. They are not the way. Thank you, Marcus Aurelius, because they are the way.

The very things blocking you is usually the exact direction you're supposed to go. He had it figured out a long time ago. Now, in the world of personal growth and people that do the work that I do, obviously we're like this, man. It's the bad times.

It's the struggles you go through. That's what makes this work, and I get it. And we never want us to be there. Just go to church. It's God's plan. It's God's timing.

Yeah, but why is it making me go through this? Biggest question you'll find in the church. Why would God do that, right? I don't know. Nobody knows. This is how life is.

And yes, every single thing you're going to do, all the failures you will run into along the way to get your goal are what will teach you to reach your goal. Let me tell you something else. For people who have actually gone through that process, when they see somebody trying to make the shortcuts, they're not going to help you make the shortcuts.

You're a drag at that point. They're not going to help you. So you have to embrace the obstacles. You have to stand up and take a step and repeat. And when you run into something that says, I can't repeat anymore, you got to say, okay, let's find another way to repeat.

The other thing I'm going to tell you about this and reaching your goals, trust your exit muscle in a big way. If you're going to Mars and things aren't working out, you might want to change your plan, right? What do I do? I've already got a fuel.

I got a leak. Okay. I better have another step, another plan in another direction. I made it. I made it reroute a little bit, right? I got to figure it out, right?

Don't white knuckle a bad call to look consistent. If you're setting a big goal and you're going after it and you're like, this is my plan. This is what I'm going to go. I'll stick by it until I know it works.

Listen, my friends, the very minute it's not working, the quicker you get out, the better off you're going to be. And let me tell you this as well. You want some real truth? Everybody around you will say, what are you quitting for?

Stick it there, hang in the game. Here's what makes it confusing. Sometimes that's the right thing to do. Sometimes you stick it through. This is the confusing part.

The sooner you can figure out if you're supposed to stick it through or not, the better off you're going to be. The sooner you can adjust, the better off you're going to be.

So if you're going for the goal, sometimes it's going to be a white knuckle moment and other times it's going to be, no, no, no, no, no, no. I'm going to release and just go.

I wish I could tell you the answer to that. I can't. But the more you're clear about what you're doing, the more you have the motivational drive within you, your why is strong, start using all the words that are overused. The more you get out of bed and say, this is what I'm doing.

If you can get to that point, nothing can stop you. You don't need a perfect day, by the way. I've talked about that before, having an average perfect day.

People say, Scott, I just want my day to be perfect. What can I do to make it perfect? You don't need it. I would say a perfect day is the enemy of a perfect day.

You need one step today and then again tomorrow. That's the entire secret nobody wants to talk about because it's too simple. My job, technically, if I'm doing it right, here's my job.

I'm not going to hold you accountable. I'm not going to tell you to do anything. I'm not going to help you build a perfect day. I'm simply going to say, we take a step today.

We'll do it again tomorrow. Hold my hand. Let's go. I'm going this direction. It's like we're both playing in a band together, right? And, but you got your own band and I have my own band, but my band's playing this way.

We're going to a band competition. You're going to hold my hand. We're going to go together. Oh, I dropped a band metaphor in the middle of a Mars metaphor.

That's not, how do you do that? Listen, you've got the why, don't you? You cleared the field. You said, Mars is where I'm going. And you built the launch.

And now you're going to light it up, right? It's stand up. It's take a step. It's repeat. It's the second half of the year. That's your runway right now.

So go. Freedom is really what it's all about here. It's all about building that base and then having something really excited to go after it.
