Mit Easy Credit. Vielen Dank. Wie geht's ihr hier? It's a really neat idea, so pay attention to that, okay? It is the Daily Boost from MotivationToMove.com.
20 years in December. That's awesome. It's a positive boost you need to take control of your business and your life so you can grow both. And that is the goal here.
I mean, listen, this is like the Have It All Life. That's kind of what I am. That's kind of what I want you to be. I want you to have it all. I do, and I think it's completely possible, but you've got to be really realistic about it.
If you want a lot of money, a lot of free time at the same time, you can do that. If you want to have a lot of influence, a lot of impact, you can do that. You can have a peaceful base. You can have great relationships.
You can have it all. But is it easy? No. You got to pay attention to it. So that's what this show is about. It's about helping you grow both of those at the same time.
And I got to tell you, they go hand in hand. They do. You know that too. By the way, today... The elements I give you today, I taught this past week, I actually taught these for about 20 years now, so you've got some good stuff going your way.
One of the biggest things that we need to help you control burnout is time. Management, if you will, maybe just call it that. Go to perfectweekplanner.com or motivationtomove.com, whichever you'd like. Pick up my Perfect Week Planner.
It's one sheet. It's a PDF. It's very simple. It's about a 12-minute video. If you can master what I teach you on the Perfect Week Planner, your life will change fast.
And I know that because I use it for years. I've been using it many, many years. Probably 15 years. And clients tell me all the time, I finally started using it.
Wow, it works. PerfectWeekPlanner.com. There you go. Something free for you, okay? Let's talk about this. Let's talk about this burnout. Particularly if you own your own business.
Man, it's a big deal. I've done this for many, many years. I've worked for other people, but I kind of gave up a job about, I think it's 27 years ago. I think it was the last time I actually took a paycheck from somebody as an employee, a long time ago.
I'm self-sustaining for a very long time, and I built a great business because of it. But there's a few things I've done kind of along the way, and there's a big one that's going to shift you around a little bit here. So the first thing I want to talk about is having default behaviors.
Ihr repeatable daily rhythm, Ihr repeatable daily patterns, things like that. Now, you live and breathe on patterns. Everything is a pattern. Your business is a pattern.
Your money is a pattern. You're a pattern. Your brain thinks in patterns. You should live in a pattern. And if you're not, if you're one of these people we talked about yesterday being a little bit more, you like uncertainty, you like variety more, patterns kind of bore you.
And trust me, I'm just like you probably. I like to be kind of flexible, but my patterns really work. So I say default patterns, default behaviors. A default is just what you're going to do.
Now, a long time ago when I started teaching this, I actually started on the fitness side. And I always started when I said you needed a default diet because people try to lose weight and diets are where people fall off track. So I said, well, you just need a default diet. They said, what's that?
I said, it's just what you eat every single day. If you want to lose weight, don't get crazy. Don't get creative. Don't start a new menu every single day.
Don't do that. Just figure out what you're going to do. Maybe one breakfast, maybe one lunch. You can do two if you want to. And maybe have lunch. Three different dinners every single week.
Whatever you want to do, just make it easy. I have one breakfast. Well, I have two. I eat overnight oats Monday through Friday. We make them the night before.
I like it. This makes me feel great. And on Saturday and Sunday, I will make some eggs and some sausage and things like that. I have two. That's all I do.
I don't have to think about it. You see people with default behaviors in their clothing. A lot of guys do this. They wear the same color, the same type of clothing all the time.
It makes it easy. In your business, you should have a default behavior, the way you do things, period. You should have a default emergency response to things. You know, when things get crazy, when life gets in the way, you should know, well, what's my response going to be if this happens?
When you can default to a certain response, you've been trained, the training kicks in, and suddenly you have no emergency. I talk about something I call my pre-planned response, my PPRs. I got to tell you, there is nothing that I've taught people
that resonates back to me more than the PPR. All it is is this. It looks at the behavior you want to have. You think about every possible thing that could go right, could go wrong, could go in between, could surprise you, whatever it happens when you say a meeting with your boss, right?
You think it through and now you lock it in. This is how I will respond today when this happens. And I got to tell you, when you set up a default behavior and that's just what you do, you win. Look at people who go to the gym.
Look at people who eat right. Look at people who consistently invest. I win my argument every single time on this one, right? The other thing I want you to end this burnout is this.
You got to get some rock solid boundaries. If you're a business owner, if you're a boss, if you're up in leadership, Your boundaries are, that's your sanity right there. And most of you don't do that.
I got to work a little later. Yeah, come on, and doors open. I got a few minutes, all that stuff. No, get some rocks out of boundaries. Be ruthless about it.
Without those boundaries, you lose. I work in a business that is essentially 24-7. It's an online business. I have people all over the world. If I want to, I can work all the time.
And yet I'm very much in control. And people are surprised they can actually get me. Hey, it's Saturday morning, man. What are you doing responding to me?
I said, well, I have things in control. Got a few minutes. Don't really care. I'm okay with that. Trust me. If I had it blocked off, it would be blocked off.
You wouldn't get a hold of me. So default behaviors just to get through your day easily is going to stop the burnout because you don't have to think about it. You just do it. And then having rock solid boundaries, then you don't have to have the angst and the drama every single time things don't go your way.
Lose the drama. If you're running your day with drama in your life because your boundaries aren't there, you got to fix it. Most of my clients, they will say that back to me. I'm talking to them on the phone.
They go, I need better boundaries. I said, duh. Now, here's a shift that I made a ways back. As an entrepreneur, this is a shift that I made that solved the entrepreneurial problem that I had that every entrepreneur has.
When you start your business as an entrepreneur, what do you do? You get out of bed, you start working. And you work until you go to bed. And you think about it in your dreams.
You're probably one of those entrepreneurs that gets up in the morning and you were so tired, you dream like crazy. You were in such deep REM sleep that your dreams are so intense, you woke up feeling like you got no sleep that night. I bet that's you.
Here's what I did. I began to treat my job right now today. What I'm doing right now, I treat it as a shift. And the way I did it is I went back to when I used to work in radio many, many years ago now.
I would show up and do my four or five or six hour shift, whatever it was. Morning shift, midday shift, night shift. I did mornings most of my career, about four hours. And when I came in, my shift was I'd get up and I had to be there about, I think I got there at 5.15 in the morning.
I'd go in the air at six. At 10, I was off. My shift was those four hours. I had to be on for those four hours. I show up for my shift. I did it. Now, I have hours before and after the shift.
That's okay. I'd be there at seven hours for the day. That was it. When I left, I turned it off. I was done. I do the same thing in my business right now.
I pull off this crazy business that I run on average about 20 hours a week. Do I just work 20? No. I spend time thinking and reading and researching. But the actual work that I do is literally, it's probably 13 to 15 hours a week unless I just goof off.
How do I pull that off? Well, I know what I have to do. I know I have the time to do it. I walk in, I put my hat on, I grab my cup of coffee, I get to work, get it done.
As soon as I'm done, I shut the door and I leave. Work in a shift. So if you're burning out, if your energy is not great, then let's go through this really fast so you get this, okay? Get some default behaviors.
You already have some already. Just pay attention to them. Get back to the rhythm that works for you. If you're out of rhythm, just get back to it. Number two, you know you need to set boundaries.
So go ahead and set those boundaries. You find the boundaries, your life's going to change. I promise you that. And yeah, you're going to run into some people, but who cares?
At least they won't knock you down. And if you haven't thought about treating it as a shift, do that. Just go to work, do your gig, go home. Even if you work remote in your bedroom.
That's what I do. It's crazy. I've worked out of a home office now for almost 30 years. It doesn't feel like an office to me. It doesn't feel like a home for me.
It's where I go to do my thing and then I walk out as soon as I get out the doors, my dog and my cat and everything else and life is completely different out there. Hey listen, if you're ready to go beyond the boost...
Bis zum nächsten Mal.
