I'm not going to get old. Don't let the old man in. Have you seen Clint lately? He's the one that said that don't let the old man in. Have you seen him lately?

I don't know if you let him in, but the guy broke down the door anyway. Listen, when you're 98 years old, that happens. So, let's talk about intention. By the way, if you don't like to have fun listening to a podcast, this is probably not your gig, right?

Because I'm going to have a good time. Do you get out of bed every single day and kind of plant your feet on the ground and start getting things done? Do you do that? Do you start your day with intention every single day?

Do you do that? In some ways, I guess you probably do, right? It was your intention just to get up and get going. I think we do. But let's take it a step further.

Take it into something you really want. That's the world I live in. Because I have a regular world like you do where I get out of bed, my intention is get out of bed before my wife says, what are you still doing in bed? And walk.

It's true. It's true. Walk the dogs. Do the thing. Talk to people all day. Do some coaching. Go work out. All that kind of stuff. That's automatic intention.

But I'm talking the big stuff, right? There's stuff that kind of wakes you up at 3 o'clock in the morning and go, man, I need to get up, but it's too early to get up. If I get up now, I have to take a nap. I have no idea.

I've never experienced that, ever. But do you get out of bed with intention? Do you take a minute? Do you notice the happiest, most successful and content people in the world do that?

They live with intention? Kind of on a mission? Kind of on a purpose, if you will? I'm always saying passion, purpose, meaning, and legacy. Because you will never be happier.

That's not my intention, but I'm glad you are. I've had my game at that. I don't want to do it anymore. I do something different. But having an intention is not a magical force reserved for a special few people.

It really is not. It implies a little bit more than what you plan to bring about in your life. Something I was about to do about 19 years ago. I've always been very intentional.

When I see something, I want to go after it. As an entrepreneur, I'm that kind of guy. I will build something. I will create it. If you're not an entrepreneur, you wouldn't understand it.

If you are, you understand that I got to make sales. I got to talk to people. I got to move the needle, right? I intentionally make this thing happen.

I'm doing it right now when we face your passion group. Somebody may get mad at me for talking so much about it. Guess what?

I had a plan and I had a timeline and I became very obsessed. I was on a mission to succeed. I had, as they say, good intentions.

I did, but good intentions are rarely enough to get what you want.

Einfach viel bequemer. Bezwinge deinen Lauf mit Hallenzehen. Okay, das klingt traumhaft. Mehr Komfort, Kraft und Dynamik. Alles durch die Passform. Altra versteht das einfach.

Altra, stay out there. In my case, I knew where I was heading. Joy, my current wife, was only beginning to understand what was on my mind. Actually, she didn't even have a clue.

She just met this guy. Seems kind of cool. Like hanging out with him. That's kind of where she was, right? Life is good. Until one day, I'll never forget it.

I was at a little French restaurant out in Mount Dora, Florida. It's not a French restaurant. It's kind of a gourmet pizza place now. We actually went there a couple of months back and was like, well, this is better than the French stuff.

This is awesome. Honey, do you remember what happened? This was the first day I held your hand. She goes, yeah. You also gave me that stupid answer, too.

I said, well, it worked. She literally asked me that day. She said, so, Mr. Smith, what are your intentions exactly? I didn't miss a beat. I said, my intentions were simple.

I'm going to do everything I can to get you to fall in love with me, marry me, and spend the rest of our lives together. And her jaw dropped. She smiled. Yeah, she took a sip of wine.

She said, well, I guess we'll see what happens. Now, by the way, with a guy like me, the last thing I ever want you to say to me is, I guess we'll see what happens. Because I go into closing mode. I'm like, right, let's get these objections.

Let's get over there. Let's do a couple of trial closes here. See if I can take her home today. Well, not take her home, but you know, take the deal home.

I got to be careful there. Anyway, I kind of freaked her out, but I was so intentional and I was 100% filled with certainty on this one. What? Well, see how things go?

I already knew how this was going to go. It was already done in my mind. Why do we need to wait? It's exactly what I was thinking. I know my intention.

I'm going to get it now. Of course, I didn't say any of that to her. Not a bit of it. That's all in my brain in the past 20 years. Getting in life what you want requires knowing your intentions for sure.

Transforming them into goals and action, that is really next. That's the hardest thing. A lot of folks I work with in Face Your Passion, they have good intentions. They have ideas that are good intentions, but they get stuck.

And I'm cool, so we just figure it out, right? You and your dreams are not living on some isolated island. If others are involved, you got to let them know and you got to let them know what's on your mind. You got to work through it, right?

You know that as well. Because if you say it's your intention, does that mean you will get what you want? No, it doesn't. It just means that you're probably going to draw people in to help you get there.

We talked yesterday about going dark. When you go dark, sometimes that's exactly where you get your intention from. That's where it comes from. That's what gets you out of bed every single day.

I often, probably five days a week, I get out of bed mit einem intention I've set in my mind, and I'm on a mission. It kind of blows my mind I do it, but I get so much done when I do that. I just naturally do it.

But I remember when I asked that question to my wife, and she said that, and I held her hand and we walked. It was very early in the relationship. And later on, she had said it would take about six months, and I heard that as well. And then, probably six months later, we're on the beach in Daytona Beach, and we go to one of the most famous beach bars on the planet, the Ocean Deck.

Have you been there? And we're in the Ocean Deck. And I decided that it was time for her to marry me. We're downstairs having a couple beers. The reggae band is playing.

I said, I'm going to ask her to marry me. Because it's been six months now. Things have been going pretty well. I mean, I kind of passed her rule. Maybe she'll say yes.

I walked to the bathroom. And they're a very small bathroom. Got a little guy conversation going. Talking a little bit about going to ask my girl to marry me.

Oh, man. Congrats, man. Other guy said, what are you thinking? I said, I don't know. Came back, still thinking about it, coming across the room. The band's playing, they slip into the electric slide.

I was a little nervous, so I just jumped on the dance floor and started doing the electric slide. My wife's looking at me like, what's he doing the electric slide by himself for? Well, I mean, there were 20 other people, but I wasn't with her. And finally, I broke free of that, went to the table, I sat down, didn't pause for just a second.

I knew my intention, my actions were going to come into play, and I said, something like, I don't remember the words, probably said something very close to, will you marry me? And you know what she said to me?

She said, well, of course I will marry you. I'd marry you tomorrow. And with that, I pulled a paper straw out, took the paper off it and wrapped a ring around her finger made on paper straw. And everybody loved me.

All the women were like, oh, that's so cute. It's so nice. All I have to say is this. We did get married. She did not marry me tomorrow. She lied. Started our whole relationship with a lie.

That's okay. But intentions were set. It's been 19 years. Life is great. Hey, join me today on my call. S-K-O-O-L dot com slash Face Your Passion. 11 a.m.

Eastern. Replay tomorrow. You'll have that if you can't get us live today.
